Silver-vermilion color has been widely used in the era of the Northern Wei Dynasty (386-534) in Dun-Huang rescoes. The most famous folk painting using silver-vermilion color is Zhong-Kui, a specialist on catching the demon and monster, symbolizes justice and repelling evil spirits. It is also used to draw red bat to represent happiness.
